Welcome to Route 2 Connections, an up-close survey of art and history along the Massachusetts Route 2. Route 2 is a 142.29-mile-long (228.99 km) east-west state highway in Massachusetts that runs the entire width of the northern tier of the Commonwealth. It begins at the New York border and ends near Boston Common in Boston. Most of Route 2 is a freeway through Massachusetts, with the most extended non-freeway portions being the western and eastern ends. Parts of Route 2 follow the Mohawk Trail, while older alignments are known today as Route 2A. We will be traveling through 5 counties and 30 cities, towns and villages, exploring art and history along the way. Join us as we make connections along Massachusetts Route 2.
